The Abu Dhabi Social Support Program forms a key pillar of the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority’s comprehensive approach. It provides essential temporary financial support to low-income families in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi holding family books. Its primary goal is to achieve economic stability, financial independence and a dignified quality of life for these families, thus creating a sustainable positive impact that reflects on the community of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi.
The eligibility criteria for the Social Support Program include:
- The applicant must be a UAE citizen, holding a family book issued by the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, and residing in the Emirate.
- The total family income must be less than the family support line.
- Family wealth should not exceed 6 times the entitlement line.
you can apply for the Abu Dhabi Social Support Program through the Authority’s official website by using your UAE PASS digital ID account. The system will automatically verify your data, and in certain cases, it may require uploading supporting documents for the application.
In specific cases, certain documents are required as follows:
For divorced women:
1- A document of the final divorce ruling from the Executive Court.
2- Allocation of a house by the ex-husband in the absence of Water and Electricity bill in her name.
3- Children are included in the application when a ruling for non-payment of alimony is attached.
Removal of family members (Reason for removal):
1- Removal of a son (marriage contract and Water and Electricity bill).
2- Removal of a daughter (marriage certificate).
3- Children living with the ex-wife (residence declaration).
4- Death (death certificate).
5- If a family member moves to another residence, the Water and Electricity bill in the removed individual’s name, a rental contract or a residence declaration must be attached.
A non-citizen family head with citizen children in her care:
1- If her citizen husband is deceased, a death certificate and an approved power of attorney for the mother are required.
2- If her citizen husband does not support the children, a non-payment of alimony document is required.
A citizen woman married to a non-citizen man:
1- She has the right to apply and add her non-citizen husband.
Widows:
1- Death certificate.
2- Inheritance certificate.
Addition of family members:
1- A legal document proving that the applicant supports the added individual, if he/she is not already included in the applicant’s family data.
2- Members residing outside the country:
3- A certificate proving that the member is residing outside the country along with reasons (treatment, education, work).
Families of individuals with restricted freedom (convicted):
1- A document indicating the type and duration of the ruling.
2- A certificate of proof from the penal institution.
3- An approved power of attorney for the applicant (wife, one of the children, or a designated representative).
Calculating income: The total family income must fall below the approved support line. The total income of a low-income citizen family is calculated considering all its members and various sources of income, including:
Fixed income:
1- The total salary(s) received from employment.
2- The total income generated from rentals or licenses.
Wealth:
1- Savings and financial assets.
2- Residential properties.
3- Commercial properties.
Social benefits:
1- All social support benefits.
2- Pensions
