The signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Family Development Foundation and the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority is aimed at strengthening cooperation, exchanging experiences, and providing social support for families benefiting from the Abu Dhabi Social Support Program

The Family Development Foundation and the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at strengthening cooperation, exchanging experiences, and providing social support for families. The MoU is based on the strategy of the Abu Dhabi government, which aims to create opportunities for cooperation between government institutions in the field of social support to strengthen family stability in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi’s community and to implement its main goals of enhancing the well-being of people — who are the real wealth of society — and to combine efforts to achieve these goals.
The MoU was signed by Her Excellency Maryam Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Director General of the Family Development Foundation, and His Excellency Eng. Hamad Ali Al Dhaheri, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority, at the Martyrs' Hall at the Foundation's headquarters in Al Mushrif.
The signing ceremony, which was attended by heads of departments, consultants, experts, and directors of the Family Development Foundation and a number of officials from the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority, comes within the framework of closer cooperation between the two parties.
Her Excellency Maryam Mohammed Al Rumaithi thanked the Social Support Authority for its efforts to provide support and assistance to families in Abu Dhabi, noting that the signing of the MoU with the Authority comes within the framework of integral cooperation between government institutions to support and empower families and all their members in Abu Dhabi. This is done by offering the social support services provided by the Authority and fulfilling the role of the Foundation in complementing and consolidating the Authority’s efforts in this field by providing a package of services, foremost of which is the integrated social care service for the family. This includes social counseling and social care, and the family support and stability service concerned with preparing those who are about to marry, and teaching proper financial planning skills, balance between family and work, and other services provided by the Foundation.
She added that the will of the two parties has converged on the importance of coordinating efforts, activating the existing cooperation in the field of social support, and empowering individuals to enhance the principle of partnership between the two parties in the field of social support. This will be achieved through the exchange of data and programs in a way that enhances the process of social work in Abu Dhabi and implements an advanced model in the field of cooperation and integration between governmental institutions through joint ventures.
His Excellency Engineer Hamad Ali Al Dhaheri said: “We value the efforts of the Family Development Foundation in achieving sustainable social development, and this cooperation comes within the framework of the integration of the roles of institutions in accordance with the strategic plans to keep pace with the vision and objectives of the Government of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi. We look forward to further strengthening cooperation in all social fields to achieve our common goals and provide a stable and dignified life for Emirati families.”
Al Dhaheri emphasized the importance of the MoU in attaining the program’s ultimate goal, which is to strengthen the social safety net for Emirati families. He explained that Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority aims to enhance positive participation in the Activation programs intended for family members benefiting from the Abu Dhabi Social Support Program through social Activation programs provided within this partnership.
The objectives of cooperation between the two parties include establishing a strategic partnership, implementing projects and initiatives that serve individuals benefiting from social support, exchanging social experiences, working to develop a joint work strategy, and building bridges of communication between the two parties to ensure further cooperation to serve the public interest according to the established principles and procedures of both parties. The work carried out by the parties will include preparing social studies and research and exchanging statistical data and results of studies to serve the strategic objectives of each.
